Entitled bachelorette party group attempts to dine-and-dash after getting caught charging food and drinks to a stranger's tab: 'We don't know her and her party'

Why do engaged folks seem to think they can get away with just about anything? It's as if having a ring on your finger gives you the right to be an absolute menace in the year leading up to your "special day." Unfortunately, one would think that the older we all get, the more likely we are to recognize these toxic patterns and stop them when it's our turn. However, one would be wrong to think so highly of people. 

Instead, most folks take the opportunity of being engaged to lean into their most unbecoming impulses. As someone who has participated in more wedding parties than most people would like to, I cannot deny the fact that I have seen this unnecessary behavior firsthand. It's as if we have all endured entitlement that is woefully uncalled for and have collectively chosen not to break the cycle. Instead, we have chosen to continue in and to even go harder simply because of the nonsense we put up with. 

This is yet another sociological example of how we tend to repeat our own mistakes, just like parents with their kids or bosses with their employees. In this instance, a group of ladies on a bachelorette party acted like they owned the establishment and even demanded that a stranger, with whom they spoke to once on the bathroom line, pay for their drinks. After the stranger politely declined, she later discovered that they tried to get away with charging their orders to her card anyway. The audacity of these people!
